Le Jardin du Luxembourg

One of the most popular spots in Paris. Right in the heart of the 6th arrondissement, this green reserve boasts a wide range of sports and leisure facilities (tennis courts, basketball courts, pony rides, and a pool with miniature boats for children). It's a pleasant place to stroll in one of the famous chairs or armchairs. Local residents, students from nearby schools and universities (Sorbonne, Ecole des Mines, Louis le Grand, etc.) and tourists can all be found here. At the end of the park is the Senate (Palais du Luxembourg) and its Museum, where numerous exhibitions are held. Exit at the north-west corner and you'll find Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Paris's emblematic department store and fashion nerve center, and its annex, La Grande Epicerie de Paris, where you'll find all the refined products of French gastronomy.

Continuing a little further down the rue de Babylone, just opposite the rear entrance to the Hôtel Matignon (residence of the French Prime Minister), a discreet door opens onto the Jardin Catherine Labouré, a haven of peace in the heart of the 7th arrondissement. At the end of this garden, the former Laennec hospital has been converted into luxury homes and offices.
